ACCOUNTABILITY
More than Just an OSEP Report
AEPS® is ideally suited to help your program meet federal accountability mandates from the U.S. Office of Special Education Programs (OSEP) for tracking data on child outcomes. As one of the most reliable and valid curriculum-based assessments available, AEPS and its

One-Click OSEP Reports

OSEP reporting is easy with AEPSi. With one click and at no extra charge, the AEPS Test results are automatically transformed into OSEP reports. How? AEPSi...
Gathers scores for every child on the AEPS Test items that align with the three OSEP child outcomes

Calculates for each child whether he or she is performing at the level of same-age peers and compares the child's near-entry and near-exit tests

Summarizes the children's performance into the 5 OSEP Reporting Categories:

  1. % who did not improve functioning
  2. % who improved functioning but not sufficient to move nearer to functioning comparable to same-aged peers
  3. % who improved functioning to a level nearer to same-aged peers but did not reach comparable level
  4. % who improved functioning to reach a level comparable to same-aged peers
  5. % who maintained functioning at a level comparable to same-aged peers
Displays the results however you choose: raw scores for each child, aggregate percentages, or ratings on the 7-point ECO Child Outcomes Summary Form. Administrators can access state- and district- or program-level results
on-line companion, AEPSinteractive™ (AEPSi™), enable you not only to easily generate the required OSEP child outcomes reports, but also to accurately measure and demonstrate progress for children with disabilities—your program's true mandate.
Not all crosswalks are equal
AEPS's crosswalk of test items correlated to OSEP child outcomes has been expertly validated, so users can rest assured that child outcomes data reported with AEPS and AEPSi are accurate and genuine measures of the OSEP outcomes. With reliable child outcomes data, you can better tailor interventions to the child's needs and be confident that your entry and exit data will show progress.
Not all tests measure progress in children with disabilities
The AEPS Test is highly sensitive. The 260+ items test smaller increments of development than many other tools, which results in a more accurate assessment of the child's performance—and a more accurate measure of progress. This makes a crucial difference for children with delays whose progress can easily go unnoticed by a less sensitive instrument with wide gaps between test items.
Better data lead to more effective interventions
The accurate child performance data revealed by the AEPS Test are seamlessly linked to interventions in the AEPS Curriculum—interventions specifically designed to address the areas identified for improvement by the test results. Incorporating more targeted, individualized goals and objectives into your planning leads to real progress in individual children. And that progress will show on your exit reports to OSEP.
Revisit child progress BEFORE the OSEP exit report
Follow-up testing at periodic intervals with the AEPS Test enables you to see changes in a child's progress, allowing you to revisit your planning and make adjustments before final OSEP reporting.
