The proof is in the programming
Programming that helps children make progress is at the heart of the AEPS& approach to assessment. Everything about the AEPS assessment processfrom the highly sensitive AEPS Test to the development of meaningful IFSP/IEP goals to the ongoing evaluation of progressleads to interventions that are proven to improve child outcomes.
Seamlessly linked
Unlike other tools that have added an assessment tool to their curriculum or tacked on activities to their assessment tool, the interventions in the AEPS Curriculum are directly tied to the goals and objectives identified by the AEPS Test and specifically designed to facilitate the child's acquisition of the next skill set.
Better goals in less time
Interventionists have been found to create significantly higher quality IFSP/IEP goals with AEPSgoals that are measurable, more functional, easier to sequence, and easier to integrate into daily activities. One study also showed that using the AEPS Test shaves an average of 57 minutes off the time it takes to create an IFSP/IEP for each child.
Proven to work
In study after study, AEPS has been shown to improve child outcomes. Because the hundreds of carefully sequenced interventions precisely target the skills identified for development by the AEPS Test, they produce measurable, meaningful progress for children. Meaningful, measurable skills
AEPS consists of functional, measurable, and teachable skills that are meaningful to the child and family in everyday life. For example, rather than focusing on whether a child can fit 8 pegs into a test pegboard, AEPS looks at how children are able to fit their own real-life items into their own spaces and environments.
Easy to embed
The AEPS Curriculum is activity-based, meaning that interventions are embedded into children's everyday play and routine activities in their homes, preschools, or child care settings. This helps ensure that children will acquire the skills outlined in their IFSP/IEP goals and are improving their everyday functioning.
More than just activities
In addition to the hundreds of proven, developmentally sequenced interventions, the AEPS Curriculum offers indispensable guidance on designing and implementing intervention, teaching considerations and suggestions, recommendations for environmental arrangements, strategies for incorporating the activities into the child's daily routine, and strategies for working concurrently on various goals and objectives.
